Glengarriff Lodge is a luxury self catering villa nestled in the ancient oak forests of Glengarriff. This historic house was originally built as a hunting lodge for the Earls of Bantry. The Lodge is built on a private island in the Glengarriff river and is now surrounded by a secluded 40 acre woodland estate. The Lodge was completely renovated in 2006 and now boasts a tasteful combination of modern luxury and historic opulence. With accommodation for up to 9 the lodge is the perfect exclusive escape.
The estate has amazing gardens with a natural pool in the river which can be used for a refreshing plunge. The estate borders the Glengarriff Nature Reserve (1000 Acres) and there are breathtaking walks through the woods which have views over the glen. Glengarriff is favoured by the Gulf Stream and it’s flora is spectacularly lush.
Glengarriff Lodge is a magnificent cut limestone building with a thatched roof, which maintains the majesty of its historic pedigree while pampering guests in modern luxury. The kitchen/dining area is spacious and well designed and has been completely remodeled with a magnificent hand crafted oak kitchen, under floor heating, professional gas/electric range cooker and a large fireplace.
The drawing room is a cosy retreat which has opulent couched seating and a wonderful open fire. It’s the ideal spot to unwind after the sun sets. It is also equipped with television, DVD and CD player.
Adjoining the kitchen a large conservatory overlooks the gardens and river. The conservatory has underfloor heating and is fully furnished making it the ideal spot to read (or write) your book and relax while enjoying the panorama of the beautiful gardens.
