Zetland Country House Hotel stands on the edge of Cashel Bay in Connemara , an area of outstanding beauty. Owned and managed by John and Mona Prendergast, and their son Ruaidhri, Zetland House invites you to enjoy gracious living as it used to be in times long gone. The House, built originally as a Sporting Lodge in the early 1800s, derives its name from the Earl of Zetland, a frequent visitor in the last century. Antique furnishings and panoramic sea views have recreated the charm and elegance of those days combined with the sophisticated luxury expected by discerning guests. But the natural beauty of Connemara is never far away. From the main reception rooms and bedrooms, you look over gardens rich in flowers, shrubs and trees, sweeping down to Cashel Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

The cuisine, with an emphasis on local seafood, is second to none. Guests can enjoy the numerous walks in the area, which have been mapped and documented, outlining the areas of historical and geographical interest and the local wildlife. Tennis and snooker are available on the grounds. Local attractions include the Aran Islands, Inish Bofin Island, Kylemore Abbey, Roundstones sandy beaches and the Connemara National Park. Clifden, Galway, Roundstone and Westport are some of the towns and villages to visit. Local activities include golf, horseriding, game fishing, sea angling, hunting, cycling, guided walks and heritage tours. The restaurant has two AA Rosettes.
