The Fort Royal Cottages are located on teh grounds of the Fort Royal Hotel in Rathmullan, Co. Donegal. There are three cottages available, all of which were converted from the original stable block of the house in 1980. The cottages are situated in the impressive 17 acre Fort Royal Estate. Highlights include the Arboretum, which boasts many different and rare tree types, as well as the Walled Kitchen Garden located at the rear of the main house. A wide variety of fruit, vegetables, herbs, shrubs and flowers are cultivated. The Estate also offers a tennis cort and 9 hole Pitch and Putt course. All of the hotel's facilities are available for cottage guests to use.
Fort Royal Cottages
The Cottages are let on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday, and each is a little bit different.
- The Garden Cottage is a small one bedroom cottage, ideally suited to couples.
It consists of one double bedroom, shower room, open plan entrance/dining room, kitchen and living room.
The Soldier's Cottage consists of two twin bedrooms, bathroom with overhead shower, living room and kitchen/dining room.
The Stable Cottage consists of one double room, one twin room, open plan living/dining room, kitchen and bathroom with overhead shower.
All 3 cottages include: - Oil fired central heating
- Fully fitted kitchens
- Open hearth fireplaces
- Telephones and TVs
- Towels and bed linen are provided. The bins and fireplaces are emptied daily and the cottages are cleaned each Wednesday
- Cottage guests are entitled to use the hotel facilities free of charge.
*Please note that unlike most self-catering cottage rentals, the electricity/ heating oil you use during your stay is included in the price.*
