This charming and meticulously restored Victorian residence has a sense of timeliness about it that has captured the imagination of poets and adventurers alike. Situated on the shores of beautiful Caragh Lake in Kerry, you will find the cleanest air in Europe, beautiful gardens and natural green woodlands with spectacular views across the still waters to the wildness of the Kerry Mountains.

When visiting Kerry in the Southwest of Ireland, Carrig is an ideal base and is centrally located for touring the renowned Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula or Killarney National Park. Two magnificent Atlantic beaches are just 10 minutes by car. The hotel is also are central to 15 wonderful golf courses in Kerry (the nearest, a 10 minute drive) where the hotel will gladly help you make arrangements for any of these activities.

A wonderful dining experience awaits you at Carrig Country House. You will choose from an extensive a-la-carte Menu and well balanced Wine-Card, featuring an interesting selection of Old and New World wines plus a few surprises. Meat and vegetables are carefully sourced from local farms and fresh fish are caught from the nearby Atlantic Ocean. Tastes are creatively blended and dishes delicately cooked with care, to excite the palate and provide a memorable dining experience.

The culinary team are highly skilled crafts-people who have won many awards and the restaurant has been critically acclaimed internationally. The cooking style is modern Irish and European with a French Country House influence.

All rooms are En-Suite and most have either King Size beds or Twin beds (2 single beds). Some rooms are available with 3 single beds. They are decorated in period style and feature antique furnishings.
Garden View Rooms
Look out over the Lawns and Gardens with their abundance of shrubs, trees and colourful plants.

Lake View Rooms
Are just 12 metres from the lakes edge you can actually hear the water lapping on the shore in the still morning!! They have wonderful views across the lake to the magnificent Kerry Mountains, which can be enjoyed when you wake- up, without even leaving your bed. En-Suite Bathrooms feature separate bath and power-shower plus luxury Gilchrist and Soames toiletries.

Junior Suite
A large high ceilinged, romantic room with both lake and garden views and a wonderful antique four-poster bed.  The en-suite is complete with a genuine Victorian tub and separate shower.

Presidential Suite
If you really wish to pamper yourself and partner, then this is a must. The piece-de–resistance is the exotic, king-size, rosewood, canopied Indian Bed complete with its access footstools. Once owned by a Maharaja in South West India it was personally sourced by your hosts on a recent trip there. The suite’s sitting room has 180 degrees panoramic view over the lake, “His” and “Hers” dressing rooms and a Jacuzzi bath. You just won’t want to leave this suite!!
The Gardens at Carrig Country House
As the true spirit of nature abounds, the elements combine in the timeless gardens of Carrig Country House. Universally loved and admired by all who are lucky enough to visit them, these four-acre gardens contain a magnificent selection of rare and unusual plants from all corners of the world including various species of acer, magnolia, cornus, acacia and eucryphia.  Cradled in a hidden lakeside dell it plays generous host to a wealth of wildlife native to the area. Nurtured by the unique surroundings, the gardens blend with nature to produce an ever-changing interest through the seasons. From the beautiful established borders of azaleas set ablaze with colour in late spring, to a vast array of autumn tints enhanced by the everchanging foliage of the many species of trees and shrubs found within. From undulating carpets of velvet green moss through  fern glades and stream paths, to cascading waterfalls and emerald lawns this is truly a garden for all seasons to be enjoyed by all lovers of nature and flora alike.
