It may be said that some have described its unique style as being along the lines of a 1920's ballroom, whilst others think it classically French, but whatever your thoughts, La Fougère is a truly magnificent restaurant that is renowned for the superb quality if its cuisine and wine list, discreet professional service and welcoming ambiance. The stylishly presented dishes are best described as contemporary Irish cuisine with a wide array of international influences. Perhaps understandably, given the hotel's location, there is an emphasis on fresh seafood and the Chefs use only fresh local produce as they go about creating the gourmet experience that is the La Fougère table d'hote menu. The nationally acclaimed links courses at Ballyconneely in Connemara, Carne in Belmullet, Enniscrone and Rosses Point in Co. Sligo are all within 90 minutes drive of the hotel. For something a little less taxing but no less enjoyable, you could always try the nine-hole links course in Mulranny, a mere 30 minute journey away from the hotel.
