| Day 2: Dublin, County Dublin |
|
| Just a short drive from the city centre is The Island Golf Club. Not quite an island, the sea and estuary surround the course on three (almost three and a half) sides. This creates an ideal linksland, with The Island Golf Club its sole tenant. Gigantic sand dunes, fast running undulating fairways, small quick greens and a devilish wind gusting in from the Irish Sea complete the picture. Often overlooked by golfers visiting the capital The Island is a course for those who love the genuine links. For the golfer who understands the fundamentals of playing against a well-conceived links and all it can muster to defend itself, The Island will be nothing less than unadulterated pleasure and is a perfect start to any golfing holiday. |

| Day 3: Wicklow, County Wicklow |
|
| Also in Dublin , your second golf test and the second oldest golf club in Ireland is Royal Dublin located on Bull Island just 5km north east of the city centre. A definite inclusion in the list of great Irish links courses, Royal Dublin is laid out almost entirely on flat land but still represents as formidable links test as you are likely to encounter. The Irish Open was staged at Royal Dublin from 1983 to 1985, being won twice by Seve Ballesteros and by Bernard Langer in 1984. A must for any golfer visiting Dublin. In the afternoon head south into Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland and feel the stress of the city fall away. |

| Day 4: Wicklow, County Wicklow |
|
| From your base in Wicklow it’s a short scenic drive to Druids Glen which lies between the Wicklow Hills and the Irish Sea . The area owes its name to the pagan high priests, or druids, who worshipped in the forested countryside in the 5th century. The course itself was designed by Tom Craddock and Pat Ruddy and is arguably the finest parkland course in Europe . The Irish Open was held here from 1996 to 1999. There can be no question that Druids Glen is difficult and in parts, extremely so. It demands that you have every aspect of your game working perfectly if you are to come up with a decent score. |

Powerscourt House, gardens and waterfall are also well worth a visit. Of course if the sun is shining you will be drawn to Brittas Bay with its unspoiled sandy beach that stretches for miles. Continuing south along Ireland ’s east coast you will come to the port city of Waterford , site of your next golf test. |

| Day 6: Kilkenny, County Kilkenny |
|
| Waterford Castle Course is situated on a beautiful 310 acre island in the estuary of the River Suir. A more perfect setting for a championship course could not be imagined, even in a country that seems to have been designed by nature for the game of golf. The natural lie of the land has been used to fashion Ireland 's first island golf course - every existing hillock, slope and tree plays its part. Each hole offers a different challenge, a change of direction and a captivating view of the surrounding countryside. A 45 minute drive from Waterford will bring you to Kilkenny City , arguably Ireland ’s most attractive city and your base for the next two nights. |

Beautiful rolling fairways, many with water hazards and well contoured greens, all superbly blended into the spectacular setting of this famous old Irish estate by designer Jack Nicklaus. Retire to Kilkenny for the evening and explore its medieval castle and extensive grounds or simply soak up the many delights of this historic and beautiful city. |

| Day 8: Dublin, County Dubliln |
|
| Return to Dublin for your final day and see the sights you missed the first time round. Or alternatively head to Portmarnock.just north of the city centre for one final round of golf. Consistently ranked in Ireland’s top four courses, alongside Ballybunion, Royal County Down and Royal Portrush, Portmarnock is universally acknowledged as one of the world's truly great links courses. But plan well ahead, the close proximity to Dublin and number of visiting golfers that want to play one of the best in the world, can make visitor times a scarce commodity. |
