Miriam has lived in County Clare all her life, except for four wonderful college years spent at historic Maynooth College in Kildare and the Smurfit College of Business in Dublin City.  Miriam openly admits that she finds the wild countryside of western Ireland to be far more appealing than the hustle and bustle of a big city. ‘Being a water sign I guess I need to conform to my elements!  I love being by or close to the ocean, especially the beach at Lahinch, which is right on our doorstep.  There’s nothing better than a long walk along the prom, followed with a generous helping of bacon & cabbage in the excellent Corner Stone Pub!’

Miriam’s Favorite Part of Ireland – Kenmare, Co. Kerry:

‘Kenmare is quite simply the perfect place to experience Ireland at its absolute best, even for a well-traveled resident like myself. Tucked away amidst some of the most breathtaking scenery in the southwest, Kenmare still retains the wonderful charm & character of bygone years.  Dotted with quaint and colorful craft, antique & lace stores, it’s a shopper’s heaven – even if you are only browsing. It is however, the variety of excellent cuisine available in Kenmare that truly won my heart!  Practically every restaurant & pub in town proudly displays the prestigious ‘Bridgestone’ recommendation plaque – a testament to the quality of food served in these establishments.  Even in the depths of winter, Kenmare is still a great place to visit - especially if you indulge in a cozy treat at the exquisite Park House or Sheen Falls Hotels. Those winter blues melt away in moments!’

Miriam’s Top Tip for Visitors to Ireland:

‘Don’t try to cram too much in - Ireland may look small, but in reality there is lots and lots to see and do, and traveling from place to place takes significantly longer than you may think. To truly enjoy the places you do get to visit, it’s crucial not to feel rushed or under pressure. After all, there’s always your next trip – we do find that the vast majority of our customers get hooked on Ireland and choose to return again and again!’
