Greetings from Ireland
Where Politicians Walk the Streets
Good day and welcome to the May and June 2007 issue of Deals and Tales, Authentic Ireland’s mostly monthly hello from us to you. This is one of the not quite monthly issues I am afraid. Sometimes we fall behind and are forced to combine two issues in one in order to catch up. With the summer approaching it gets a little crazy here at Authentic Ireland HQ and the newsletter tends to be an early victim of the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day and we insist on spending half of those sleeping.
But enough about us and our slothful ways. This month we go electioneering Irish style and we continue our “When in…” series with a look at Doolin and West Clare, an area famous for traditional Irish music and the Cliffs of Moher. But there’s more, much more...
So crack open a beer and stick a do not disturb sign on your desk…
- Its Election time again hip hip hooray!
- Specials – Save $100 for travel in October
- When in - Doolin & West Clare
- Authentic Referral program
- Next issue: stuff to look forward to
- Admin: on/off this merry-go-round, etc.

| IT'S ELECTION TIME AGAIN HIP HIP HOORAY! |
|
Warning Warning! I’m about to start going on about politics. Irish politics at that. So anyone with low pain thresholds please skip along to the next item now.
Still here? Well in case you haven’t guessed, its election time in Ireland at the moment. This month, we the proud citizens of the Republic of Ireland being of reasonably sound mind will go to the polls and elect a new government which we hope will be capable of governing us for the next five years.
The main reason I’m telling you this is to warn those of you who might be visiting Ireland soon to be on the lookout. For you will almost certainly be accosted by gangs of roving politicians looking to shake your hand and kiss your baby if you have one. They will be looking for your vote of course. So do us all a favour and don’t whatever you do admit to being a tourist. Instead put on your best Irish accent and complain loudly to them about the state of our roads and our decrepit health care system. Or better yet don’t put on an Irish accent. Ask them how they are going to resolve the nurses dispute and where they stand on stamp duty. That ought to throw them. more on the Irish elections >>

| When in Doolin & West Clare |
|
Clare, or the “ Banner County” is Ireland’s most easily identifiable county. It’s the pointy bit that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean above Kerry and below Galway. Clare doesn’t have the spectacular mountain scenery of those two counties. Its boasts are more modest and possibly more charming as a result. The coastline, from Loop Head (the “pointy bit”) in the south to Black Head in the north, is a winning combination of rugged sea cliffs and sheltered sandy beaches. The villages and seaside towns along the coast are all small but each is famous in its own right for different things.
There is much to explore - read our Authentic West Clare to do list:
