Sarah has lived in Ireland practically all her life, and is extremely proud of how far back her Irish lineage can be traced. The culture, music and heritage of Ireland is of great importance to Sarah – so much so, that she majored in Irish History & Culture in University. Travel has always very much appealed to Sarah, and in 2008 she took an 8 month career break from working with Authentic Ireland to embark on an adventure exploring South America. She has travelled all over Europe and plans on conquering Asia and Africa next! In Sarah’s own words: ‘Travel is quite simply the best education one can get.’

Sarah’s Favorite Part of Ireland – The Burren, County Clare:

‘The small Irish towns & villages of the Burren Region will steal a little piece of your heart. Places like Doolin, Ballyvaughan & Lisdoonvarna are quite different from one another, yet each is colourful, close to the water, and so charming that you simply can’t help but feel at home. Be sure to set some time aside to sit by a fire in the village pub and chat with the locals - it’s most likely where you will have your most Authentic Irish experience!’

Sarah’s Top Tip for Visitors to Ireland:

‘If you can at all, catch a hurling match on TV or at a nearby pitch - just ask the locals! It’s a crazy game, played with a leather ball (sliotar) and wooden ’hurleys’. Hurling is the fastest field sport in the world and not for the faint of heart - definitely unlike anything you’ve seen before!’
