Killarney is Ireland's most scenic location
About Killarney
For the 7 night duration of this tour, you will stay in self-catering accommodation in Killarney. Why have we chosen Killarney as the tour base? Quite simply, its central location in Ireland’s most scenically beautiful region – the southwest - is second to none. Killarney lies on the edge of the astoundingly beautiful Killarney National Park with its three magnificent lakes and the spectacular MacGillycuddy Reeks mountain range. The park is also home to Muckross House and Gardens. Killarney is a wonderful base for all manner of activities including angling and water sports, golf, riding, orienteering, hiking, cycling, and canoeing. The town itself is quite small but full of charm. This you will see as soon as you walk down the brick footpaths and pass curious old-style shop fronts. Killarney is well known for its excellent shops, restaurants and cosmopolitan appeal. It is also renowned for its evening entertainment including many singing pubs, cabarets, dancing venues, and banquets. Traditional Irish music can also be heard in many of the local pubs.
Ring of Kerry Day Trip
An essential part of any visit to Ireland, this tour circles the magnificent MacGillycuddy Reeks – runs through its many passes and valleys along the shore of Dingle Bay and Kenmare Bay. There is an unspoilt nature to Ireland's most beautiful region and the Ring of Kerry provides many unforgettable memories as it passes through picturesque villages such as Glenbeigh, Waterville and Sneem. The tour returns via Ladies View, the famous Lakes of Killarney and through the Oakwoods of Killarney's magnificent National Park.
This tour departs at 10:30 am and arrives back at 5pm
Dingle Peninsula Day Trip
The Dingle Peninsula has the most rugged Atlantic coastline in Kerry and is scattered with forts and pre-historic huts such as the Gallarus Oratory. Much Irish heritage is maintained in this Irish (Gaelic) speaking region including traditional music and art forms. Considered by many to have some of Europe's most spectacular scenery, the peninsula also supports both a rare and unique assortment of flora and fauna. Slea Head is the most westerly point in Europe and standing there, looking towards America, instills a feeling of excitement and empathy with the millions of emigrants who took this route
