On the map: Loen is a quaint village situated in the inner part of the Nordfjord region, below the imposing Jostedalsbreen Glacier. Home of Loen Skylift, dramatic scenery and great hiking, biking, and skiing, it’s the perfect place for exploring the mountainous region.
Loen Skylift brings you from the fjord to to Mt. Hoven at 1011 m.a.s.l. in only 5 minutes. Enjoy the great panorama view of the fjord landscape, the mountains and the Jostedalsbreen National Park. At Mt. Hoven you can relax in the restaurant, or go hiking in the mountains. Several marked hiking trails for all levels are available.
For a true physical challenge, you can climb Mt. Hoven yourself. The Via Ferrata Loen is a climbing route where you are secured in a steel cable, while climbing high above the fjord. You end up at Mt. Hoven, and return to Loen in the Loen Skylift.
