With so many ancestors coming from Ireland on both my side of the family as well as my husband’s, we have always wanted to visit this beautiful country. It would be so nice to see where we came from. We are very interested in history, and Ireland has such a vast, long history with so many things to learn about. It would be nice to visit museums to learn all about the rich history of the people and see artifacts from so long ago. The closest geographically we have ever come to Ireland is England, but were not able to extend our trip to visit Ireland, which we regret so much!
There are so many things we would love to explore: renting a car to travel all around the countryside to see all of the beautiful green scenery, peer over the tall cliffs looking over the vast ocean, visiting and staying overnight in small, quaint towns, visiting with the locals during our overnight stays throughout the country, marveling at the gorgeous castles that spot the countryside in a way that not many other countries can boast about, spending hours at night at pubs for amazing meals and drinks, beer tasting at all the stops (if my husband gets his way!), golfing at least one time on the world-renowned courses we hear so much about but only dream of being able to play on, taking in local musical acts and more. We love doing something new everywhere we travel, so we would need to research at least a couple of things we had never tried before, and make sure we slip that into the itinerary. It would be such a busy trip with so many amazing things to squeeze in, but every morning we’d be excited to wake up early to see what adventures we’d have that day. No time to sleep when you’re in a country with so much to offer!
We have had so many friends and family members travel to Ireland and no one has had anything to say but wonderful memories. They have always said the scenery is breathtaking, the people are friendly and helpful, and the cuisine is unique and delicious. Everyone always wishes they had booked a longer stay, and cannot wait to return one day. What more could you need for an amazing adventure in a far away land than all of those things? I have had poor health this year, and my husband has been so incredibly supportive and understanding. I would love nothing more than to win a trip for him that will bring him to a country that has always been on his bucket list! He absolutely loves beer tasting and making, and is so inspired by the Irish folk music. He would have such an incredible time travelling around and just taking in the sights and sounds, and of course, so would I!
