I have always been intrigued by Ireland, especially since some of my best friends are from there! To me it looks like such a magical place. I know that Ireland is rich in history, and personally, I would love to meet a leprechaun up close and personal. I am all about exploring nature wherever I travel. The views in Ireland look spectacular. I want to see the cliffs, and the mountains and the water. I know that there are three World Heritage sites in Ireland, and for sure I would want to visit those. The Giant’s Causeway is of particular interest. It looks so beautiful in pictures, and sort of reminds me of Bryce Canyon in Utah. I am also an animal lover, so seeing all the sea birds in this area would be awesome.
I would have to go to Killarney National Park, and I would love to spend a night at Muckross Park Hotel and Spa, eat dinner there, and get a couples massage. I would also have to go to the Cliffs of Moher, hopefully on a clear day. Also on my nature radar would be a whale watching excursion from Cork. Whenever I travel to any place with whales, I take such an excursion. They are always an amazing experience! For sure I would like for us to drive the Wild Atlantic Way. We have an antique Jaguar in Napa, California, and one of our favorite things to do there is to drive it along Highway One. The highway in Ireland looks even MORE amazing! If the timing worked, it looks like the Gaelic Games would be a lot of fun. It sounds like a really fun way to learn about sports in Ireland. The people seem friendly. I’d love to spend some time exploring the cities as well: Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and I am a huge foodie, so I would find the best restaurants in Ireland and spend a lot of time enjoying them first-hand. I would also visit the English Market in Cork for artisan food! Of course, I am also a huge fan of Irish Whiskey! Bushmills is one of my favorites here in Canada.
I would LOVE to spend a night at Harvey’s Point in Donegal Town. It looks spectacular! It sounds like the food there is not to be missed. Ashford Castle in Cong also looks super romantic. We could use some romance, as we are raising five sons between the two of us. Our last two are almost off to university, and then we need some SERIOUS romance. When in Dublin I want to stay at the Merrion Hotel. And at the Brehon in Killarney. I love fine food and fine hotels, and it looks like there is no shortage of these in Ireland. Although I have not been able to golf for the last few years, I would love to rekindle my love for that sport while in Ireland, because I know there are some pretty amazing golf courses there. And I love Rory McIlroy. I would want to play at least three rounds of golf while in Ireland, including Royal Country Down. So, as you can see, I have BIG plans for my time in Ireland, and I really want to do it all, see it all, play it all, eat it all and drink I all!
