What intrigues me the most about Ireland and being able to visit Ireland is my DNA. My ancestors came from Ireland during the potato famine and migrated to the United States to start life anew. My heritage is around 60 percent Irish, 35 percent Scottish and 5 percent English. My ancestors endured ridicule for being Irish and being “”less than”” true Americans. Even though they were not rich, they pushed on in life to better themselves and better their descendants, myself included. I am very fortunate to know where I came from, who I came from and what my heritage is. I have brownish-red hair and green eyes which everyone I meet finds intriguing. I would love to see where my roots came from, maybe meet family I have never met but have just heard about while growing up in my tight knit family. I would enjoy being able to educate myself, my family and friends about Ireland that you can only learn in person, not in a book as I always read. I would enjoy seeing if there really are Leprechauns at the end of a rainbow and finding that pot of gold. I want to immerse myself in the culture of Ireland. I am a history buff and being able to see some of the many castles in person would be mind boggling. Sitting on a bluff and enjoying the scent, sights and sounds of everything that is Ireland.
Enjoying a good pint of beer would help me unwind and savor the awesomeness of actually being in Ireland. I would love to climb to the views of cliff Moher and take in the vast expanse of the beautiful views. The attraction I want to visit the most is the Blarney stone so I can be flipped upside down and to kiss it. I have been following that attraction since I was a young lass. I would be tickled to actually be able to drive a vehicle while enjoying my adventures in Ireland, trying to figure out how to drive on the opposite side of the road as we do in the United States. I am sure I would look positively silly trying to navigate the roads on the wrong side of the road and trying to figure out the various road signs that I am sure are much more different than the road sign in the United States.
I have been an avid horse ride since I was around 8 years old living on my grandparents farm. I would be tickled green to ride an Irish Hunter, being able to feel their power, galloping through the countryside with the brisk Irish air running through my veins. Finally feeling alive and a part of my Irish blood that is such an enormous factor in my DNA. I need to experience an adventure that includes something that is so near and dear to my heart. Being able to be immersed in history, my heritage and just everyday fun would mean the world to me. It would be a memory I will fondly look back on for the rest of my life as I cannot travel as much as I would like to.
